What is wrong with the police in Miami-Dade County?!

Family Hires Attorney After Police Scuffle With Special Needs Man « CBS Miami

Jesus Hernandez, Crooked Ex-Cop, Sold a Monkey Illegally - Miami News - Riptide 2.0

A friend of mine knows the young kid in the first article, and he has down syndrome! The officers that did this are completely ignorant to not know what someone with down syndrome looks like. I understand it is not a good neighborhood but that is unacceptable.

When you deal with people like this: Cop Beaten With Stick in Miami | NBC Miami
On a daily basis then we can talk about these terrible police officers. They have a very though job and also a job which saves lives.

But of course there are always bad apples in the tree. The thing is police officers are put to such a high standard and 99% keep that standard that when one of them does make a mistake or do something wrong it is big news.

Miguel Esposito is his own example to follow. A real circle of jerks...We citizens look upon our officials as an example of good human beings but there seems to be an exception to Esposito and we should not stand back and let things be as what once was expected. If we are sheep then we will get tossed around like a rag...Not me !.
This man was fired for disobeying an order. No excuses and no exceptions for disobeying an order.. I wonder what branch of service in the military he served...

Where I use to work and I am now retired, this person would be fired on the spot and would be subject to a huge fine. Floridians seem to forget this fact that we have officials that work for us not we work for them... Higher standards MUST be adheared to when in public service or get the heck out.

Screw him and put his arsh on welfare...

It's easy to Monday morning quarterback.

As far as Exposito, he participated in the DROP program. That is where $730K of that big figure comes from. As a high ranking official, his average final compensation was 118K/year. The way the DROP works is that one retires but continues to work. The city keeps paying him his salary, and instead of the state paying him his pension, they put it a DROP account. His $118k/year goes in there for 5 years. At the end of the 5 years, he ended up with $118k times 5, plus interest. As far as cashing out his sick/vacation time, that is another perk. If you agree with it or not, those are things that are negotiated by the unions and the state.

If your average officer's salary was 60k and he retires and goes into the DROP, he will have $300k at the end of the 5 years, plus 75% of the $60k ($45k pension) They can also cash out their sick leave and up to 500 hours of vacation. So there is a benefit for not calling out sick for 25 years, and limiting your vacation.

I don't know about ya'll but since I came to Miami I called the cops 2 times and both times they were so awesome friendly and that really surprised me, because in Europe I could just wish to get one and beat the sh*t out of them. But here, officers are really nice, and so are bus drivers and people.

Depends on the bus driver, but the majority are nice people.
