Thanks for sharing, it will be a popular service for sure! Especially if they have dedicated parking spots, like a couple at the end of every block and surface lots like the new one at Collins and 15th. Then for getting around the Beach residents don't need to risk "losing" their spot just for a 20 minute grocery run (...and spending another 20 minutes looking for a new spot, adding to traffic congestion and wasting fuel in the process).

To me, the current garage locations are pretty useless for leaving from the Beach because you lose time getting out of the garage (5 minutes is a significant factor for a rental by the minute), and in the case of the 5th st. one, in the morning and night you never know if somebody will be there to open the gate for you, and if not you either ditch the car or pay the lost ticket fee and hope to get reimbursed with driving credit

Yeah , no parking! Centro new -pre construction in Miami

Which is kind of crazy since it's a 1bedroom. Not sure how they are allowed to build without parking. i know that the Miami21 building code encourages higher density and more reliance on public transportation, but I can imagine the parking situation is going to be insane, because most people buying a condo with also want a car. Miami isn't close to being like Manhattan or San Francisco or other cities where you can get by without a car .

There is such a thing as being *forward looking*. It's kind of a requirement to be successful in real estate development. We are pretty much maxed out in terms of how many cars we can accommodate in the downtown area, and there is increasing pressure to expand mass transit and alternative transportation like Car2go and CitiBike. Besides, there are many existing garages in the area which offer monthly parking, and life goes on. Also, you're forgetting that investors buy these condos and rent them out, and even if most owner-residents probably want to have a car, many renters in the downtown area don't, and when they do need a car, there are decent short term rental options like Car2Go and Zipcar as well as conventional rentals.

IMHO, Miami 21 still requires too much parking for moderately dense parts of the city like Little Havana and Wynwood--one reason we aren't seeing much in the way of small, no-frills, building development, instead we have lots of land owners sitting on vacant lots and/or not tearing down run-down buildings because they can't build something with enough parking. Easing the parking requirements and perhaps putting in some municipal garages (developers pay a fee that goes towards this if they don't provide parking) would do wonders to revitalize those neighbourhoods.

I agree people are so quick dismiss Miami transit options which even though are not the best are their. I like progressive thinking as well that encourages positive action such as this. Free Tesla with every unit purchased at new West Palm Beach condo | Real Time
