Soooo...the police..who already KNOW who most of the criminals in a city are without using drones...are know going to be able to do what...with drones?

The police are barely competent in most cities and they already have great deals of information and powers that they seemingly are unable to use to successfully combat crime. Why would additional tools make the less stellar police any more..."stellar?"

Maybe they can use the drones to also cut into the massive fraud and corruption in Miami Dade County. Miami may lead the nation in sunshine---but it is the undisputed king of corruption and fraud----numero uno.

If drones can point out previously undetectable crimes fine---so be it. Miamis police force needs all the help they can get-----CSI Miami is nice television fiction.

If you want to cut the corruption, you will need citizens to have their own

I do not see why they need it, the police can go stand on the corner in many areas and watch crime happening. There was just something in the Herald about cameras being installed at some housing project and still not stopping crime, so it is not like the police do not know where crime is occuring. Heck, just look at the crime map and they can tell where they need to concentrate, it does not take a drone either.

I think it is an overkill, really no need for it. But hey, it is tax payer money, so for the gov, that means money is no object.
