Nowadays, the cost of building a house with concrete panels ( ICF) or blocks is competitive to wooden construction.

If you have experience from all-concrete houses, either as owners or as visitors, you may share your valuable knowledge with us.

Any differences in the "feeling " of those homes, apart from technical differences ..?
Do u still need to evacuate in case of hurricanes..?

I built my first home in 1988-90 with all concrete. It still stands today and has had no problems. In 2010 I built a new bunker style home with concrete roof and "green roof" which has concrete block walls inside and steel door frames. Both homes are what you would call "mid century modern" in style. I save a ton of energy, although I generate most of it myself. By avoiding wood you avoid all the problems common to Florida buildings. Humidity can be a problem, but in both my homes I elevated the floor above ground level.

Beware though, scammers often call a concrete home one with a wood roof. If you put a wood roof you sabotage the whole structure. I am getting ready to build a tilt-wall garage with a steel truss roof but that has to wait till the current commodities bubble pops.

Thanks for your launch comment.
I guess u used all-concrete material, not those ICFs which are encapsulated in plastic.
I heard that those ICFs are unfortunately vulnerable to termites.
Any opinion..?
