Hi, I currently live around 30 minutes away from south beach and I am dying to move there I want to be near the beach but it has been so difficult to find a studio flat, I moved from London a few months ago and my roommates (cousins) told me the apartment was near the beach which is a complete lie so I was wondering if any of you could point me to the right direction my budget is $600 which is what I am paying at the moment please help

You will be limited at $600 but you will be able to find a studio apartment with no amenities most likely. The best thing is to look on sites like realtor.com or drive around you will see for rent signs in windows and out front of places.

i just went through looking for a studio - there's nothing in South beach for 600.00. especially not in the winter; minimum would be about 800. If you'd be willing to live outside the main beach area; perhaps Little Havana or North Beach, you might find somthing for around 700-750 or so -- but not for 600. At that price you would probably have to look for an ad for a roommate, or a room for rent in a house.

$600 will be very tough. Right now, realtor.com shows no rentals below $650 in south beach (zip code 33139), 4 in mid-beach (33140) and 2 in north beach (33141). All are under 400 sq.ft. Your best chance might be to walk or drive around in the areas of interest and look for rental signs as doggiebus said. Another option is look for people looking for roommates, but be careful of scams and other problems. For any rental, ask about parking, utilities, other fees etc.

In general you'll have more luck in north beach than south.
