I agree.

Given the choice, I would choose Miami over LA, hands down. The air is cleaner in Miami, Miami is generally more laid back and although traffic here is bad, it is nothing in comparison to traffic in LA....yes, I have driven on the 405 & various other clogged freeways.

I am amazed. Finally, some positive things being expressed about Miami from a number of people, for a change.

That said, I have noticed that threads for various places have people who are critical of their own towns. It must be that city-data is a place for releasing tension and more.

I say each to their own. Some might prefer LA, but I would opt for Miami. I've been to LA a couple of times, but the air quality and the traffic would be a major problem for me in terms of actually living there. I did enjoy Santa Monica though....it's kind of like South Beach and there's even a British pub there called The Kings Head.

let me tell you one thing if you have money u will have no problems anywhere in the USA.

in my view all depends how much you make $$$ so that will determine where you live, where you be etc...

if you have money in miami or LA, than you will have an amazing life no matter where you are.
it is simple like that.

LA has hilly topography and moderate humidity--Miami has tropical vegetation and warm clear waters. There's far more to do water-wise in Miami. LA winter not as nice, but summer usually more pleasant. It's Mediterranean vs. Caribbean climate/vegetation. Both are the best parts of America IMO.

Don't like Miami so much , although I do like South Florida and yes there is a marked difference between Miami and the rest of South Florida ... I do agree that both the Los Angeles area and South Florida areas are lovely and share many characteristics ..... although the low humidity and more overall friendly laid back style of Angelenos is an advantage for So Cal .. IMO

I LOVE Miami. But I also like LA quite a bit also. I'm originally from the east coast and I love to swim, so that probably has a lot to do with it.

Both Miami and LA have good and bad points. However, everytime I've ever gone to Miami, I've always had such a wonderful time I never wanted to leave.

I live in Scottsdale, AZ (which wouldn't suck so much if it weren't so dry and waterless) and I am hoping my daughter chooses Miami for college because I would like to buy a second home there!

Neither city is good anymore. But if I had my choice it's Miami. LA is just too far gone to save, and there's always "The Big One" in the future. To me it's like deciding which is better, a sewer or a septic tank.
