I don't live there but IMO one of the best places to live in South Florida. Low Crime, Traffic can get bad at rush hour on the main roads, I can't think of any problems besides for very strict zoning laws. Great homes in the area, Downtown Gables is a nice area.

Like I said there are some crazy zoning laws. You can't have a pick up truck parked on the street and I think in your drive way if it is visable from the street after 5pm till 7am or something like that. There are annoying zonning laws but the city is a great looking city.

Letter: Coral Gables making progress on pick-up truck law - Coral Gables - MiamiHerald.com (http://www.miamiherald.com/2012/03/16/2709945/letter-coral-gables-making-progress.html - broken link)

It is most certainly one of the top places to live in in South Florida.

CG is great but you also "share" your community with less desirable areas. You can buy a 1mm house in CG that has bars on the windows! University of Miami and the Biltmore Hotel are both in CG and are beautiful areas but cross US1 heading to Coconut Grove (Grand Ave) and you cut right through the ghetto.

If you own a home there, it's like living in an HOA, that's what I always hear. No drinking alcohol on a patio or balcony facing the street!
