70 percent of Miami-Dade residents are foreign-born. Miami was built and is sustained by immigrants, just like most major U.S. cities.

I have visited many European countries and Miami's quality of life is better than most European and U.S. American cities.

The U.S. as a whole is a country of super rich and super poor. 1 percent of U.S Americans control/own most of the wealth of this country.

Miami is fine, a "poor" person here makes 2,000 per month.
You are wrong my friend, the U.S is made up mostly of middle class people.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_....2C_and_wealth

"Wealth, like income and taxes, is highly concentrated: The richest 10% of the adult population possesses 69.8% of the country's household wealth, the second-highest share among developed nations.[283] The top 1% possesses 33.4% of net wealth."

Well, I meant there is a super rich class, a weak middle class (whose social security doesnt even include healthcare security) and a super poor class (compared to the rich class of this country and not to what is considered "poor" overseas).

A poor U.S. citizen makes 2 thousand monthly in Miami, average more or less. Miami has a good standard of living, a poor Miamian here has a vehicle, AC, and a 46 inch flat screen at home, easily.

Latinos like Alex living in Miami, illegal or legal, immigrant or not simply cannot accept the truth of what Miami is today. They just can't accept it or they don't know any better because they don't travel outside the greater Miami and South Florida area ( and many can't travel the US because they can't speak English ).

Yes, agreed - simple as that, fact. But there is a significant gap nowadays (increased with the economic downturn) between the middle-upper and upper classes and the lower and middle-lower classes. It's also somewhat bigger in Miami-Dade (I don't know, maybe Alex was using this fact to make his point - still overly exaggerated and not factual).

Now Alex is angry, because my comments hit home so now he must lower himself to personal attacks.

This is the way I see.

Honestly, whose business is it if some thirty year old wants to live at home with his parents, making 30k a year, wear a real rolex, and drive a leased mercedes?

Yes, the US is made up of the really rich and really poor. Compared to other countries, we are one of the richest, most diverse countries in the world. Some parts of this great country are inhabited by the really, really poor. How many of our fellow Americans go without healthcare because they cannot afford?

There are many cities in the US that are made up of people like the OP describes outside of the obvious wealthy areas. Take a look at Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas, etc.

To the poster who felt the need to apologize for calling black people black; really? Is this what it has come to? It is racist to call a black person black? I have two naturalized friends from Africa, both object to black Americans being called AA. One is white and one is black.

If you go back and read my posts and your posts. I have not made any personal attacks towards you, you originally said my comments were false and you never attempted to elaborate why...

You said I was educated in the public school system. Is that supposed to be an insult? lol... what choices do people have in the U.S. : charter Academies, public schools, and catholic schools (private), by far, public schools are the best choice, the best education.

Again, no personal attacks from my part.
