I have noticed that all the FOR SALE signs have come down in my parent's neighborhood. At first I thought they all sold. Yet the same people are living in the homes, as their vehicles are still there. Are people just taking their homes off the market to try and stimulate interest? Are they waiting for tax reform that will never come? Buyers can't get financing? Insurance? Any ideas?

Probably a mix of them all. My brother-in-law took his house off the market 6 months ago, because there were 6 other homes for sales in his neighborhood. He wants to wait till there are less homes for sale in the neighborhood. Then he will put his house back on the market. He also didn't want the listing to have a high date on it, so it doesn't look like it was on the market for so long.

True. It's just how you play the game. Too many houses on the market? Take yours off until the inventory starts thinning out a bit.

Most of the houses for sale in South Florida seem to be on the market "just in case". Just in case they find a sap willing to pay an outrageous price for it.
