Hi! I would love to hear your opinions on the VENETIAN ISLANDS area of Miami Beach (specifically Belle Isle)? I'm looking for a pedestrian-friendly place, where there are other professionals in their 30's/40's, and Belle Isle seems nice because you can (I think??) walk to South Beach, but at the same time it is a quiet and peaceful area. Also looking at SUNNY ISLES, but while it seems pedestrian friendly, this seems like an area with mostly vacationers, although maybe that's not correct? Would really appreciate your opinions on either or both areas! Thanks!!

There are significantly less people on Venetian Causeway than in Sunny Isles. Venetian is a small stretch of interconnected islands consisting mostly of single family homes while Sunny Isles is a city comprised mostly of high rises.

Belle Island is a very densely populated island next to SouthBeach. It's full of condo buildings and has "The Standard" hotel. It's very walkable to Lincoln Rd and most of the resident amenities of the west side of South Beach. It's nothing like the other islands on the Venetian Causeway.

It still has less people than Sunny Isles. You can't compare 2 square blocks to a city.

Okay...if it's going to be city vs city, let's compare Sunny Isles to Miami Beach. Game, Set, Match Miami Beach.

Both places are somewhat walkable, but not entirely pedestrian friendly:
Belle Isle: Dade Blvd. is difficult to cross, Alton Road intersections can be brutal, no direct pedestrian route to businesses west of Alton and south of Dade--you can walk to a Publix and Lincoln Road, but that's about it, and it's not a very pedestrian friendly route (though the new West Avenue bridge should help a little bit).
Sunny Isles: strip-mall style businesses with sidewalks that are too narrow in many locations. Crossing Collins can be a pain at some intersections where lots of people have to turn left.
If you want to walk to the beach, Sunny Isles would be the better choice.
