I've watched both parts several times. It's definitely good if you want to learn how Miami's drug industry shaped the city into what it is today. Great documentary IMO. It made me realize that in a way, the drug trade saved Miami although a horrible violent crime wave was the byproduct.

I grew up right in the middle of all of this and never knew it was happening. I was around 10 years old and lived in Kendall, 107th ave and kendall drive. My grandmother was working at Dadeland mall when the machine gun shootout happened at the liquor store. As I look back and now know that all of this happening in my neighborhood right around me I enjoyed growing up in Miami. Watching this documentary there were a lot of homes that were cocaine house where no one lived in them but they were stash homes.

Just watched it on netflix instant - very interesting. Didn't realize how Miami development was so dependent on the drug business.

so surprised how little amount of time in prison smugglers got from the documentary and that the heathen Godmother wasn't put away for life.

"I am just curious" why so many people who don't live in Miami are so obsessed with "Cocaine" and the drug culture that existed in Miami over a generation ago?
