Born and raised in Miami, just moved a year and a half ago, and while there's a ton of bbq places to check out, I've yet to find any coleslaw as good as Shorty's. No one even uses celery seed in their cole slaw here

Does anyone have a copy cat recipe for Shorty's Coleslaw they could share?

Thanks!

Hoping someone has a copy-cat recipe, or figured out what was in theirs - would love to make some here in SC!

I don't know what Shorty's coleslaw tastes like , but from 2000 -2005 I ran a Catering Business here in Southern California ( Southwest Bar-B-Que Co. ) The coleslaw I used was a really big hit by all of my customers ( Yes it had celery seeds, many other spices , sugar and apple cider viniger) .

Now that I have retired from that Business I will tell ya all the secrete!
Go to your local chain market, Wal-mart, Smart & Final or Wholesale restraunt supply store and buy some of McCormick"s Super Slaw mix , follow the directions on the pk. and BINGO ! you will have a winning coleslaw that everyone will be wanting more of . It comes in a 1.1 oz. envelope usually near the veg. isle. Make it the plain way or add some raisins, or pineapple chunks, it only get's better!

Give it a try and let us all know what you think.

Just came from Shorty's and they have the only Cole Slaw that I can eat... I doubt they will share that recipe though.

I use McCormick Super Slaw and LOVE it. I am looking for a copycat for it if someone has it I'd like to get that recipe. Sorry, I don't know anything about Shorty's, would try it too.

You are making me hungry for some ribs or steaks. Maybe it's time to visit Shorty's again, I have not been there since 1998.
