Hi there,

Can anyone tell me about changing my canadian G2 license to a florida drivers license? We have a graduated system here (G1 - similar to learners, G2 - received after road test, same restrictions as regular license, G - received after 1 year on g2 and second road test).

As i understand from the official site, there is no equivalent to the G2 in Florida, so would I just be able to swap out my G2 to a regular Florida License?

any help appreciated!

thank you!

Hi Snow person, being from a cold climate myself, I think you can have 3 months driving ,as in visa regs, then you have to apply for a normal test, good luck.

I didnt do this exactly, but went the opposite way several years ago- had a normal US license and got a straight G in Canada after exchange, I believe it would be the same going to the US because as you say there is no intermediate license here- I doubt they are going to bust you back to a learner's permit.
