Just wondering exactly where all the Jamaicans reside in Miami/Dade county. I hear most usually head up to Broward instead, but I hear Miami has a good Jamaican population too. My father lives in Jamaica so it kinda interests me.

I thought you were the resident scholar on blacks in Miami-Dade. Last I heard, Jamaicans got fed up with Miami and moved to Broward. That is why the Jamaican population up there is booming.

I am thinking...and I do not think there are any "Jamaican neighborhoods" in Miami-Dade. I know there are some Jamaican restaurants and hangouts by FIU and in Miami Lakes. But those areas are not "Jamaican". Your best bet is Miramar...which is Broward, but is just over the county line. However I think "the" Jamaican area of South Florida is Lauderhill; which is north of Ft. Lauderdale. Miami-Dade really has no comparison to Lauderhill!

That's true..Lauderhill, and Lauderdale Lakes have pretty high Jamaican populations. East Miramar as well. (But that's Broward County).

Not sure about Dade though.

Mostly Lauderdale. The Blk population in Miami is mostly Haitian or other Caribbean Islands. So where in West Palm you living?

yeah i kinda figuered, it's just when i make my trips down to miami from west palm i do see some jamaicans around, n even talked with a few, just wondering if they have their own neighborhood. I actually live in Chicago but when I visit my mother once in a while in west palm, I stay at her place over up on Sapodilla a little bit just past Clematis.
