Miami wastes $30K reinstating city prayers (city hall, chapel, construction)

Now we got ex jails massacring families once they bail out of jail.
We got the most corrupt political ppl ever leading this society. What about corrupt cops? Corrupts trying to over charge you trying to give you a "beat" to your wallet for whatever little side you leave out you allow them to do in all kind of services: doctors, lawyers, stores, restaurants, mechanics, I mean, all kind of places you go you now have to keep your eyes WIDE OPEN to avoid to be fooled.
There is a general "consciousness of theft" over ppl, even a chilid could notice.

We got media manipulation telling lies through news on TV pretending everything is OK and distracting us from the real problems with trashy shows and programs.



Also, we got anti-life laws, anti-religion laws, anti-everything and you are saying is fantasy? You have to be kidding man... seriously..

There are more laws coming that are under discussions: legalizing drugs, euthanasia and that will be the last straw. and you guys are saying all that garbage and more non mentioned here is pure "progress"???

Progress is stamping on others to be good. Pure evilness. How can one live on that egotistical point of view? All what matters is getting money...I would love to see some of you when this country fall in the huge drought that is coming very soon with no food to eat, and you will be unable to eat money.

Why can't you accept that not everyone wants your religion? Go to church, do your thing...but your beliefs are not getting us anywhere. Lets stick to reality...

The whole point of prayer is communicating with God. It has nothing to do with religion. You can say a non-denominational prayer and no one would know what religion you were, if you even do belong to or believe in a religion.

I am actually opposed to civic prayers of this sort and even more so to moments of silence, but if we must discuss this topic, let's not get emotional and let's keep silent on those particular bits on which we know nothing.

For example: Christians, did you know it is forbidden to worship a God apart from Christ? Are civic prayers to some generic God in which any Deist or Unitarian may take part really a religious victory?

No, it's still wrong. The idea is not to protect somebody, it's to protect everybody.

If you're in the presence of someone praying to a generic God it doesn't mean you're worshipping that God. It means you are standing there respectfully and quietly or praying to the God you do believe in.
