Whereas South Beach ( Ocean Drive ) is still Nr.1 nightlife place for many tourists i am wondering what is the preferred place for drinks and restaurants for people living in Miami and why.

Our favourite place is Mary Brickell Village since 2 years and seems to me like village is growing and growing hope it will not end like Ocean Drive ( traffic / parking / prices )

Not just Mary Brickell but the whole area in general. Can't wait for Citi Center to go up. The grove is good, South Beach is funa 3-5 times a year. However going to bars around Lincoln Road and Espanola Way isn't bad.

Generally prefer the feel of the Grove, but I wish a few more places would pop up there. Brickell's alright sometimes, but it's hectic. Generally avoid the Beach due to distance/parking issues.

SoBe is fun to take out of town guests to visit, but I live in Brickell so everything I do is in this area since I can walk or take the mover to where I want to go

I tried liking South Beach, but it just does not click with me, the reasons are obvious to me.

Mary Brickell is the default since I live in Brickell, the Grove is fine, but that requires commuting.

I like South Beach and MBV for their own reasons. Not a fan of the Grove, though.

Grove:

Wednesday nights, Green Street, $5 whiskey, black labels and Dewars and TONS of college hotties...

Other than that, it's nice for a weekend brunch or early evening drinks and ppl watching.
