If the husband doesn't plan to be some big wig power person he can live and work in Miami with not much english. There are plenty of jobs in Miami for non english speaking people, they just may not be high paying jobs. The best advice I could give the OP is move to Miami, but live in a part of Miami that isn't mostly spanish speaking (I know that's tough to find as 67% of the county is hispanic) or maybe even move to Broward, this way you will be able to practice your english more why going to the grocery store or restaurants.

I'm in the same situation you describe... I moved to Miami more than a year ago from Mexico and was able to find a high paying job in less than three months... My wife on the other hand is still looking... the difference: she doesn't speak English. She has been studying English in the MDC for eight months now and still keeps getting rejected on job interviews because of her poor English. She is also a highly trained professional and had a high paying job in Mexico and is used to be an active, productive and independent person, so you can imagine her frustration.

My advise is to take advantage of your current economic situation and job stability to improve his English the best he can and wait until he feels ready, here in Miami most employers tend to accept that people won't have the fluency of a native speaker, but they still expect good communication skills.
