A friend wants to buy a nice condo in Brickell...

I am pretty familiar with the Icon buildings. But really haven't heard much about Vizcayne. Is it as nice as it looks in pictures?

Icon, like most Related projects, has thin walls. Not sure about Vizcayne. I'm not sure how many units have actually been sold in the complex and how their financial situation is, either.

If they want to buy in Brickell, there's only one possible choice, though. LOL!

I would go with Icon even if they were open to Downtown. Downtown is going to be going through a lot of changes the next few years but Brickell offers a more distinguished and higher end feel which will appreciate better over the years, especially once CityCentre is complete.

If Miami World Center were up and running that would change the ballgame a bit, but since that is years and years away, the clear choice is Brickell, hands down.

I would be suspicious of a developer who cannot seem to spell names properly. Or is it that they ran out of names so they are being "creative"?

Vizcayne is a cross between two Miami landmarks- Vizcaya and Biscayne Bay.

Not following about one possible choice in Brickell. Icon is my favorite, I stare at its pool from my office window whenever I work in our Miami office. But there are some other nice buildings in Brickell too.

Well, I would say only one main thing: Location, location, location.

The Icon is in Brickell just by the bay (although it's located in its north end, which isn't the best location in Brickell, but very good). I'd personally prefer a building in Brickell Key, one of the newer ones...probably as great as it factually gets in the Brickell area.

Because Vizcayne is not in Brickell, it's Downtown.

Being on Brickell Ave is better than Brickell Key. Brickell Key is nice for a more suburban highrise lifestyle, but for a more city feel you have to be off the island. Walking up and down Brickell Key Drive to get to the action is quite dangerous. In the past few months there was a jogger severely injured as a car came up on the sidewalk and even more recent was the death by the hit and run just about two and a half weeks ago.

Ideally the best locations in Brickell are by Millcento, Infinity, Axis, and even Plaza, not BK.
