Hello everyone. I took a flight to Miami to check out the area for a possible apartment. I visited South Beach and the first three people I tried to talk to did not speak any English. I am not a racist by any means but is all of Miami beaches like this? What beach/area would I have better luck of people speaking English?

Appreciate any help.

Well, a mixed question. There are very Caucasian people in Miami Beach who don't speak (prefer not) English. Move around, let them know they won't have your business unless they speak the official Language of Florida. If you can afford an apartment in South Beach You can buy someone who speaks English :-) Which places did you explore, exactly, just curious, countless times in South Beach most are bilingual.

That's funny...but I go to SoBe, specifically SoFi, when I want to feel like Im back in USA...always meet a nice professional, predominantly English speaking crowd at Smith & Wollensky (BTW, love their remodel and addition of a rooftop bar).

Of course you will get your fair share of tourists from all over the world visiting Miami Beach (as well as wealthy foreign condo owners)...but 3 people is also hardly a representative sample size either.

Thanks I was not talking about business, but just people in general on the beach. I kind of felt like an outcast which I'm not use too. Looking for a beach where I'll fit in a little better.

South Beach is an inl tourist destination. You'll run into people who don't speak English there. They are likely inl tourists.

Unfortunately, it's just as likely they been living here for years and haven't felt "the need" to learn the language! Wondered, if you want a beach area you'd fit in with MOST speaking English, you'd be better off in Palm beach or north of there!
