I will be heading to miami this weekend and it will be my first time there. Looking to check out some good shopping districts/malls and recommendations on resturants that must be visited in Miami. Any help is appreciated. By the way I will be staying in south beach

Take a look at this thread tons of good places to eat: Give me 5 restaurants...

As for shopping in Miami Beach walking down Lincoln Rd you will get plenty of shopping. Aventura Mall is huge and pretty upscale, will need to drive there. There is also the Miami Design district with some upscale stores and Bal Harbor Shops also very upscale. For outlet shopping you will want to go to Dolphin Mall or if you are up for a bit of a drive Sawgrass Mills.

Overall I say for shopping Lincoln RD will be enough and spend the rest of the time enjoying the beach. Also the shops on Lincoln are open late, at least the vast majority of them will be open till at least 11 some even past 12-1am.

I believe there are shuttles that can pick you up at your hotel and take you out to Sawgrass Mills. There are frequent busses up to Aventura Mall, if you have the time, I suggest taking route 120 (limited stop) not S. It takes about an hour. There's also Bal Harbor which is much closer to South Beach (40 minutes?) on the same bus line, that's where you'll find the most upscale stores and the Saks and Neiman Marcus, more like a Beverly Hills type feeling. Believe me staying in South Beach with a car would be a pain, though there's a little known secret: it is possible to park for free above 26th, walking distance if you're in shape, or short cab/bus ride, from 6 pm - 8 am, with some of the machines you can pre-pay the maximum hours for the next morning, so you can actually park after 6pm and get the car at 11 or 12 and not have to pay the $20-40 for the hotel's parking.

Thanks for tips guy, I will prolly check out aventura, the falls, cocowalk and possibly bal harbor if I have time. I heard that the cheapest parking in south beach is the 17st garage for like 16 bucks a day
Will be looking forward to my stay in south beach
