Critical to a good pizza, but not depending on location. Those things can occur anywhere, not just NY.

My favorite pizza spot is called Roman Oven. It's a tiny place in Cooper City. (and Primanti Brothers on A1A and Sunrise Blvd in Fort Lauderdale)

Roman Oven is run by a husband, wife and uncle...all who are from Italy. It's a common place to find former New Yorkers because their pizza is the closest that comes to home.

I asked the owner/husband about the whole NY pizza myth. He said it's nonsense. It's about the ingredients and HOW you make the pizza.

You can find plenty of good pizza in South FLA if you go to a restaurant that is serious about their pies. The pizza in NY is typically better because you usually find a ton of places that are run by Italians straight off the boat and they take their pizza seriously. Naturally you're not gonna find an abundance of places like that in South FLA.
