I bounced for 3 years in the early 2000's when I got back from college. I also have a few friends who currently do security within the club scene. (at the Hard Rock) I currently pick up security shifts for extra money at the Hard Rock's concert venue.

Do you know that the Hard Rock has to hire security to stand around the center bar area in the middle of the casino late at night? There's a little bar area in the middle of the casino and they had to hire security because so many people were fighting there on the weekends after the clubs got out. (we're talking 4am-6am)

Like I told you, the Flannigans in Kendall has to hire bouncers for the weekends. How bad are things that you actually have to hire bouncers for a FLANNIGANS RESTAURANT?! lol

Shoot, I was just at Red Lobster in Kendall a few days ago and some little rich girl and her boyfriend threatened to beat up the 45 year old waitress. Lmao. Her boyfriend threw all the menus on the floor and tried to break the computer at the front desk.

I also have been working around youth sports for about 14 years. Should I go into detail about some of the animal-like nonsense I've seen from people in that field?

Let's not pretend this place is full of sophisticated people.
I have been to the casino more than a few times, dozens and dozens of times actually, never witnessed anything.

How did you know the income level of the rich girl in the red lobster?

Many places have bouncers, I can take you to any place in Kansas, Washington state, etc, and show you places with bouncers, I do not know why you think this is something special, it is quite normal.

The sports BS happens everywhere, just a google search will show you this.

Again, I did not state Miami was free from fights and other BS, but you act like Miami is the only place where it is prevalent. I have seen more problems in Arlington, VA even than here in Miami.

You have got to be kidding me.

Miami is extremely image conscious. I grew up in this place and I can tell you that many of the stereotypes are fact. Most people that are raised here have what I call the Miami mentality. If you're from here you know what i'm talking about! Many of the people here do have some type of competitive attitude whether it be for looks, toughness, status, finances, who sells more dope, whos more physically appealing etc. The list goes on. While I do feel that there are people like this everywhere because I have been around the country mostly to each side of the coasts, Miami is by far very unique in this aspect. And some of this actually does have to do with the history and culture of this city. People for decades already have grown up here with a Scarface Cocaine cowboys state of mind. Lots of individuals I've known personally have either known legitimate drug cartel members, been one, or aspired to be one. The culture of the gangs from back in the early 80's since the Mariel boatlift has also influenced the city. The big booty brazilian and plastic surgery queens from south America has also spread into our culture as an influence. There are so many different cultural reasons as an explanation for the way this city and it's people have developed, that no other city in the US has..period. Also to those that think dudes here will back off, be careful you might have not encountered the right or should I say "wrong kind" of person.

Yeah? You've been in the casino passed 1am near the center bar, on the weekend?

How did I know about the rich girl? Well cause I can put 2-and-2 together by looking at her car, clothes, jewelry and also considering the neighborhood I was in. Rich or not, she was sure as hell from the suburbs, a nice neighborhood at that. What difference does that make though, man? Stick to the point. That's like arguing with a kid. "Well, well, how do you know she was rich?" As if that really has relevance to my point. SMH

Did you miss the part where I said the bouncers were in FLANIGANS? A damn restaurant. We're not talking about a late night bar here.

SMH. LOL @ that being considered "caring". Like you can't wear jeans and a shirt and still care about how you look. What a shallow logic. LOL

Wearing heels and a short skirt to a damn football game or walmart is not "trying to look their best", it's TRYING TOO HARD. It's over-doing it.

If you look good, you look good. A good looking person can wear friggin' jeans and a t-shirt and still attract people. (without looking like they're trying too hard)

If you're the type of guy that looks at females as objects, then sure, you're gonna love when chicks wear club attire everywhere they go. Me, no matter how hot the girl is, will look at her and shake my head. I see vanity.

"Looking your best" is fine, but within the element. A football game is not the element for high heels and short skirts. Save the club attire for...THE CLUB.

it's nothing soft about miami. it's a big, hot major
city, so you have to live accordingly.

Yes, my wife and I are there often enough at that time, usually go there when driving back from visiting relatives in PBC.

If it is not relevant to your point, why did you bring up that she is rich?

As I stated, this is not unusual, many restaurants have bouncers, this is not unique to Miami. Even a Logan's Roadhouse in some dumb TN town will have bouncers working.

Yours is shallow logic, you think women should dress according to how you think they should, never mind how they feel like doing; which is an element of puritanism, the point in controlling what a woman does.

As they say, there are two types of women in the world; one group who dresses sexy, and one group who resents the first group; you seem to be under the influence of the second group; girlfriend or wife perhaps?

I am sure though, when one of those girls in a short skirt walks by, your eyes are following!

The joke you are not traveled much, and you seem to think Miami somehow is unique in regards to the subject. You think a restaurant having bouncers is unique shows just how lack of exposure you have to the night scene outside Miami.

I also question just how much experience you have going out at night in creating your opinion, versus how much you "heard" or what you "think" Miami should be.

It is clearly obvious to me you do not have much experience in going out at night; I am a bar/club hopper, it is my hobby, I have done this all over the world and moved to Miami for this reason; yet either I am exceptionally lucky, or you are very unlucky in being a witness to some extraordinary amount of fights in Miami, in which in my opinion are no more or less than any other place, but I would say less than expected given the amount of people and bars/clubs there are compared to other places.
