Seriously what is the problem with bug control here, I get maul as if I was in the Everglades here!
I know that deep west Kendal where my ex lives it is a problem, but I have heard that culter bay has a real problem. Is it the lakes? Is it the city not keeping up? I have a screened pool but if I go put front I am eaten alive.
Seriously considering planting lemongrass all over the place!
It's not anywhere near as bad in West Kendall as over there. Maybe they've sprayed more this year? I was even in my unscreened pool yesterday around 5 pm, normally a time you don't want to be out there and I only got 1 bite. Have you put in a spray request online?
Anything close to the Mangroves will have a mosquito issue and when its windy they get blown inland. If you think mosquitos are bad right now, wait two weeks from now, after all this rain we've had in the last few days its going to get worse. The city doesn't spray until it gets enough complaints. So start calling mosquito control every day. Get your neighbors to start calling the county as well. They'll bring in the military planes if its bad, but if they don't have the complaints they won't do much.
The best thing is to avoid going outside during the hours the mosquitos feed which is at sunrise and sundown. Mosquitos are attracted to the color black, so avoid wearing black. Wear long sleeves and pants and wear mosquito repellant if you plan to be outside for a long time.
