I know the sale tax holiday starts next weekend but today I went to two supermarkets and I wasn't charged sales tax. Why? what is it today?

It might be because it is Miami's 117th birthday today.

The no tax day is mostly for school supply stuff, uniforms or anything that kids or college age kids need for schools. Un prepared food is tax free in Florida.
