And yet he's still here and still complaining.
I saw that and I'm sure others have too.
I don't understand this post since we don't know the full story of the OP and why he's still here.
Maybe he's confused, can't afford to move, doesn't know where to go, has family issues.. there could be many reasons why he's still here.

You're not wrong missing it. Too much of anything gets old and I think it's a well-accepted fallacy that Miami is somehow "paradise" or it has great weather. It sucks, IMO. It usually rains half the year, (this is, admittedly, a very dry summer) it's hot and humid as balls for like 8 months and really, besides the beach and clubs, there isn't that much of interest here.

And that's just the weather...

We're those snowbirds. FL Keys from January to April 15th...we're gone! The humidity begins and so does the caravan of RVs north. We still love the change in seasons and there is something about the first snowfall and the kids sledding down the hill in our field, walking the dog on fresh snow and the quiet and beauty of it on the trees and having hot chocolate by the fire. It's fun to visit the Keys and see all our friends, but it's always nice to head north and home.

I think months of cold can be romanticized and beautiful when you can "escape" it for three and a half months and return when it's gone. How long will you enjoy walking the dog in the snow, especially when it's not fresh anymore? The same goes for months of heat. If we could all go somewhere else from, let's say, June to mid- September, the weather would be a lot more romantic and gorgeous. Unfortunately for most of us, we can't afford to leave an area when the weather is at its worst for months at a time. We just make the best of it.

Must have gotten stuck to the melted asphalt like a fly on sticky paper.

Yeah that is when WE return the favor to our NJ, DC, and NC folks, we have a guess room set up just for them in the winter and we have something similar in the fall early winter. Also in the early winters it's nice that family has property on the lake in Sebring and take advantage of camping and getting away.

We have learned a long time ago when to take a breather from Miami and just vacation out.

And then the snow melts. And the dog doodies come through.

I hear you, and agree to a point. Sure it can be annoying, but the worst of winter in the NE is usually about 2 months. That's nothing. This place is genuinely uncomfortable for like 4x as long, though.
