Well dang! I had a good lead on a decent 3BR/2B in Kendall near SW 56 St and SW 147th Ave for a very reasonable price. About the same as a 1BR in Doral. According to Google Maps traffic it doesn't look so bad in the morning but in the afternoon rush SB traffic on the Turnpike is red (slow) from the Dolphin to SW 56th St.. I usually work out in the morning so I can get up around 5:30 and beat the rush hour traffic by going to that LA Fitness on Doral Blvd that is only a 1/2 from my office and then only have to deal with that 1/2 mile of rush hour traffic. That is, as long as that particular LA Fitness and it's showering facilities are clean. But that afternoon commute looks terrible.

I have a love hate relationship with traffic. I am a traffic engineer so I love traffic because it provides me with a job, but like everyone else I hate setting in it. I will be doing traffic safety studies for this job but I am very experienced with signals and their timings so I can almost always find the best way to get around.. Us traffic engineers can design ideas to provide enough capacity, perfect coordination and very safe roads. What we can't control is lack of funds and lack of driver sense. Reading through all of these posts it seems like Miami suffers from both also but mainly from the lack of driver sense. Can't do anything for driver stupidity..That is the DMV's job. If traffic is as bad as everyone says it is and Miami drivers are as bad as everyone says they are, then it should keep me busy for a while which is good......

There are some brand new apartment opening up on NW 97th Ave between the Dolphin Expressway and Fountainbleau but they are opening the same day I start my job depending on approval from the City/County building department. That may or may not work out..

Thanks for the replies!!

Don't do fountainblue, this area is SUPER congested and crowded. If traffic is your job, then you will have fun in Miami !

Uni vision ladies?

I am a healthy eater so McDonald's doesn't have much to offer me but if the scenery is awesome I will find something...

For as congested during the day and night as Doral is on the road, in the stores and in the air due to the planes constantly flying in and out of MIA, it would still be the better choice of the and much more convenient.

Living in Kendall, especially the westside, is a slow and painful death.
