Yes I would say what remains would be in Redlands and some pockets throughout Miami, it is a accent that you don't hear anywhere else. You will find quite a bit in the keys and even in my new area east of US 1 in cutler bay.

I don't quite get it, are you referring to inhabitants of mobile homes?

LMAO, some southerners live in mobile homes of course, but most just live in suburbia.

South Florida is considered not part of the South primarily because of all the immigrants. I have some family who lived there 55-60 years ago and back, and they were definitely Southerners.

Miami has never been a "Southern" city nor has most of southeast Florida since it was developed by Northerners to begin with. Most Southerners moved to Miami after many had served in WW 2 and were trained on Miami Beach then returned to live after the War.

I don't think I ever met any southern/country folk. I've read and heard the only parts in Florida that are souther/country are parts in northern Florida and very few in central Florida. Miami is a typical north eastern area like NY and what not.

There are still country southern people in S. FL. We know plenty. My husband has a business where he deals with a lot of Miami's residents since 1985. They're the minority, but they're still around.

Yeah we know them individually but not as a group setting mostly our friends that manage to have tough skin and stayed in our neck of the woods.

Sculley's had a bunch of regulars that we knew from my high school days, little hooligan did as well.
