Same here, although parts of Oakland Park and Carver Ranches in Hollywood ain't so fun either . I see lots of bickering about crime here but really for it's size we don't have a lot of ultra-dangerous neighborhoods. Plenty of neighborhoods I might not want to live daily in due to crime, but not many that are just plain scary. Less than most places I have been. That's probably why it's getting worse...

Most of the reviews has been favorable, the street is Cove Lake Road, what's your opinion? I commuted 2 hrs a day in Houston, so I dont have an issue with that. Besides I cannot convince the wife to get somewhere else.

I have no clue where that street is, so I'm going to look it up...

Hmm, looks like that particular complex is a newer one off the Turnpike. That's what I would call an "ok" area. Not really bad, not really great, but it's near Palm Aire, which is a very nice section of Pompano. I saw that complex on the news one time for multiple car burglaries, if it's the one I am thinking of.

Accordingly, gables did a complete renovation of it. So any more feedback. What about daycare? The average costs etc?

we used live in Camden Plantation (formerly Summit Plantation) A 2/2 will run you $1400-1550/month.

Unfortunately, you may not find what you need in the price range you're looking for.

Complete renovation? I remember them building those a couple of years ago...

If it's owned by Gables, I imagine it's probably pretty decent now. That area is fine. It's just going to be a really bad commute. The traffic on S.R.7 going to the Turnpike at the Commercial Blvd. light is probably the worst in Broward. 3-4 cycles before you get through during peak times. I would really consider looking into complexes further south in Pembroke Pines.

The biggest issue is most daycares are closed at 6 PM and the wife would normally work beyond 6. So, I have to try to get to a prospective daycare prior to 6 pm.

How bad is the turnpike going into Flager street in Miami?

Well, you won't have any north/south highway traffic in Broward unless there an accident, whether you take 95 or the turnpike. Your biggest Broward problem will be getting off the Turnpike at commerical in the evening and taking 7 to Cypress Creek. You might want to take 95 in the evening. If there is an accident on either highway you just switch to the former or the latter and it's no big deal. As soon as you get south of the Golden Glades (where the Turnpike ends and dumps into 95), it will take you about a half hour from there in stop-and-go traffic to get to Flagler Street. About 20 minutes from NW Lauderdale/Pompano to Golden Glades.

So basically, a 45 minute commute.

I would REALLY consider the Pines. It's just a nicer area to begin with, and it helps that it's closer to work.

And I have no clue about day care, sorry .
