I found this article in our cutler bay newspaper.

Basically if you are a Miami dade public library card holder now have a ggreater access to the arts with the museum pass program.

The museum pass program offers patrons with valid library card free admission to

Deering estates
Fruit and spice park
History Miami
Miami children's museum ( my grandson LOVES thus place)
Phillip frost Museum of science
Vizcaya museum and gardens
and PAMM

All you have to do is go to your library and select an attraction of choice and passes are good for a family of four.

For complete details of the program check out Miami-Dade Public Library System

I don't know about all you folks but I really do appreciate having something free to do in this city and I am looking forward to several afternoon dates with hubby to some of these places.

We just recently went to Vizcaya and the cost was about forty bucks for us, and my grandson's trip to the children museum was at least 12 bucks for the grown ups.

If you are new to Miami it is worth the trip to these places especially before the heat and humidity really kicks in.

Hey, great info, thanks.

Here are direct links to the program info:

I did notice that you have to "check out" a pass to a specific museum and the availability seems to be limited. For example, I just looked for Vizcaya and most of the libraries indicate that it is currently checked out and not available. Nevertheless, it's still a nice program and one which I had no idea existed.
