The only differences would be in the way they look i guess....i used to live off of 47th ave. in Carol City and it looked almost the same as Miami Gardens, but Opa-Locka looked a little different because of the architecture......other than that it all is about the same as far as the feeling of saftey goes....or unsafety.

Opa Locka is older, and does have arabian style architecture, and is run-down in looks. In my opinion, much of Miami Gardens was Carol City, ever since I was a kid. My husband grew up in Carol City (NW 177 St & 55 Ave), but now is called Miami Gardens with the passing of incorporation. (will always be Carol City to me, though)

I would feel more uneasier driving through Liberty City, than Miami Gardens any day.

I agree with that. Also Opa Locka looks horribly old...

Is Liberty City near Downtown or is that Overtown...we are staying at the Radisson Hotel at 1601 Biscayne Blvd...is that an OK area?...we are very street smart...but also want to be in an OK area...doesn't have to be Aventura...but as long as it is "OK"
