We have areas with 8-10 lanes total and during certain times it is not enough so 20 lanes might not be that unreasonable.

I really don't know anywhere in the Miami area that has room for such an expressway. The only solution might be to double deck the existing ones.

Probably cost beneficial since people are not gonna stop driving any time soon. I think 836 and I-95 need more lanes.

2.161 million (2012)
Houston, Population

413,892 (2012)

Don't think that will happen anytime soon.

The Miami figure is based on the City of Miami only, not the entire county.

Miami is just more than the city of Miami.

Miami-Dade county population is 2.5 million and people commute from Broward & Palm Beach counties as well with a combined population of 5.5 million in the tri-county area.

30 miles from downtown Houston is still Houston.

30 miles from downtown Miami is Pompano.

This. The expansion of the roads doesn't help much. It would be good if they had some kind of train that ran along the expressways. You figure that we would be able to get clues from Japan and try to mimic them with the carousel parking and train system.

The 826 is going to still be a nightmare when they are done.
