You didn't fall for real data. I posted US Census stats and you overlooked them. I think you're sugarcoating.

that data is incomplete, and doesnt give the whole picture....just because you're being glass-half-full, doesnt mean i'm sugarcoating

That data says much more about the area than some thread you referred to. Miami has an above average percentage of people in poverty and family household incomes are also below average. Miami in general leans towards being more poor-to-lower-middle class than upper-class/rich. Especially compared to other cities and metros in the U.S.

other metrics say otherwise for overall wealth, which is all i care about regarding the overall climate for business..... i dont care that distributions might be differently skewed in Miami vs other cities....has zero bearing on anything for me

Then you should look into GDP of cities and metros in order to determine "overall wealth". I can't find anything on the GDP of the City of Miami. But in the U.S., the Miami MSA ranks 11 with $274 billion. I'm also willing to bet that a chunk of that spending power comes from outsiders who don't mind spending. All you need is one extremely wealthy few to buy up the good stuff while a huge chunk of the populace sticks to buying in Wal-Mart.

I have...not only is Miami one of the US's wealthiest cities, it is one of the world's wealthiest cities. Great place to start a business and/or find investors to support that business.

Miami has people that might be extremely wealthy and that might support a business dedicated to a select few. But overall, it's not wealthy. Cities like Boston, San Francisco, Seattle, etc. are all more wealthier on a whole compared to Miami. Also, in many of those cities, a lot of the wealth comes from people that actually live and play there. I look at Miami almost like a U.S. version of Rio, where a lot of the people who spend money there are wealthy outsiders.

Wrong again. Business doesnt have to serve a 'select few'. If i have a business that provides better quality at lower prices to *any* income demographic, that business will grow. Doesnt matter where they're from, whether they're outsiders or not, or what language they speak. All that matters is the overall wealth of a city..... that money eventually flows to the best businesses, and for that, Miami is well positioned.
