Compared to shanty towns in other countries, maybe not. But they sure look like ones!

I usually thought these types of conditions were more prominent in rural areas that have nothing to offer (like the rural Southeast, rural Southwest, rural Great Plains and parts of the Appalachia). But places like these:

...are not too far from expensive luxury condos and huge mansions.

Also, with all the economic shifts that occur in Miami (and I guess the rest of the metro), what are the odds that places like this will continue popping up?

Either way, there is no doubt that A LOT of work needs to be done down there.

Those are called trailer parks. these are not random places. These areas are specifically designated for trailer park living. So no worries about them randomly popping up all over the place.

They are also all over Florida which was, in fact, rural at one time. The developers and condos came later.

These parks serve a necessary purpose in society by providing Jerry Springer with an endless supply of guests.

Do you know what happened to the previous residents? Were they sent to homeless shelters like in the video, put into those new apartments, etc?

How is this person supppose to know where another individual is gentrified to location wise ? More than likely they moved to another trailer park dwelling. Haven't you been paying attention to the booms Miami has been going through, where tons of people have been gentrified to other dwellings to make way for luxury condos.

If we get one CAT 3 or higher, those trailer parks will be gone. I hope the residents don't plan on riding it out if we do get a big one.

I guarantee it doesn't take CAT 3 for residents to leave their dwelling I would say tropical storms will put a hitch in their gitty-up. A CAT 1 would more than likely wipe out a trailer park, 2 definitely.

I don't know? Maybe by word of mouth or other local mediums?
