My BF and I are moving to FL, we will be working in Miramar and Doral but would like to live in Miami. Is that a good choice traffic wise? We're both sick of driving but we do not want to live in a suburb area either ....

You will get the worst of both worlds in Miami especially Doral. It's a suburb with horrendous traffic. Maybe live in Miramar and let the poor soul working in Doral take one for the team.

I don't think the traffic in Miramar- or Miramar to Doral traffic would be much better than the traffic in Doral (or Miami). There are many many folks who live in southwestern Broward County who make that schlep to Miami to work each day- and traffic often gets backed up big time on all the roads- I-75 from the Griffin Road exit south, the exit from I-75 onto the Palmetto, and the Palmetto south to somewhere around the NW 25th St exit are all parking lots southbound in the morning, and northbound in the afternoon. And that's not even counting the accidents. The turnpike is another north and south route, but it's frequently tied up too, and you pay for that ride.

I used to travel fairly frequently for my job from Palmetto Bay to different locations in Broward and Palm Beach county- although there wasn't any good route, I decided after a couple years that the least of all the evils was the Palmetto to the turnpike, or I-75 if my destination was points west in Broward County- most often the Palmetto was backed up or slow ( I tried to leave before 7:30AM, but traffic around Palmetto High School at that time sometimes made it hard to get on the Palmetto very early).

Most often the traffic on the Palmetto got lots better in the AM once I got past NW 25th St, so I was able to make some time and most often the turnpike or I-75 wasn't too bad northbound ( there could be exceptions when it rained, or there were accidents), so those worked the best for me. Another north and southbound route I used and found not as crowded was Flamingo Road- I think that starts around the level of Sunrise Blvd in Broward and a left fork in the road just south of Pembroke Road onto NW 67th Avenue, continuing south on that will take you to the NW 67th Avenue exit onto the Palmetto Expwy. I used to use that a lot in the afternoons for the drive home from Broward county western destinations. They were doing a lot of building out there, though, and traffic was increasing even when I was still working, so it may be more crowded now.

Both are bad because there is no way around the traffic in Doral. If they live in Doral, the person working in Miramar would be screwed and chances are the one working in Doral will also have to deal with Doral's traffic since the place is a parking lot. It's hard to know for sure without knowing the approximate addresses

If you live in Miami the traffic getting to Doral and to Miramar would not be horrible. You are going against traffic. Most people are trying to get into Downtown/Brickell in the morning and leave in the evening. Miramar is a bit of a drive though. Doral traffic can be bad, especially in Doral. But if you are sick of the suburbs and don't mind a bit of a long drive in miles from Miami to Miramar living in Downtown Miami is not a terrible option.

Commuting from Doral to Miramar is not that difficult. If you live there, you don't have to go through the more congested areas of 12th st, 25th st and 87th ave to get to the Turnpike.

Doral has worse traffic, and it also has too many red light cameras and expressway tolls in every Turnpike entrance/exit.

LOLOLOL!!!! Try hitting the turnpike north at the NW 41st St exit around 5PM. Or the Palmetto Expwy at the NW 36th S. exit north, either to the ramp onto I-75 north or continue north on the Palmetto to the Golden Glades- again at 5PM. Either way, you may not call it traffic but I assure you, you'll have lots and lots (and lots and lots) of company on those roads. And try that especially when it's raining, and/or there's a wreck on those roads, or more than one wreck. You may not call it traffic if that's to your liking, maybe you'd rather consider it free parking, LOL!
