I just saw that today. I was like, "You're kidding!?!?!?!"
But then again, it's only based off of two "studies". One of them only ranks how many people purchased American flags from Amazon.

I actually wouldn't be too surprised with ranking Florida as one of the top patriotic states. A lot of old retirees here who have a lot of patriotism, especially retired vets.

While I don't think Miami is the second most patriotic place in America, I'd like to stress that just because a place doesn't wave flags 24/7 for every occasion, and doesn't hate immigrants, doesn't mean that place isn't patriotic.

I would expect a city with a more homogeneous (i.e. white) and xenophobic populace with a military presence to rank higher, but congrats to Miami for coming in second.

Patriotism is a sign of low intelligence so that does not surprise me. Add ism to any word and it ruins it. These studies are just a lot of manipulated numbers and propaganda. Edward Bernays would be proud. Be happy, go lucky!

I'd be waving a flag too, if I landed on US shores and got the free bennies the Government hands out.

Was at Florida Supercon tonight - a comic con type convention. There was a cosplay contest where you also had to do a skit. There was a guy and girl dressed from Captain America. She sang the Star Spangled Banner while he held an American flag. Almost the entire audience stood up, hands over their hearts and sang with her. Nothing wrong with loving your country - faults and all! I was proud to see all these young people united in that feeling on the Fourth of July at a geeky nerd event!
