We will be on a cruise and need to get from Fort Lauderdale to Miami Airport. Does anyone have any reasonably priced directions?

Thanks for your help

There is the Trirail which does run from Ft Lauderdale to Miami Airport, sort of.

First problem is to get to the Trirail station in Ft Lauderdale: generally speaking, the Trirail stations are located in the most inconvenient places, you need a car (or taxi) to get to them.
Second, the Trirail schedule is thin, you need a bit of luck for the schedule to coincide with your needs, much worse on Saturdays and Sundays.
Third, the Trirail stops about two or three miles from the airport itself and you have to take a shuttle bus to cover the distance. The problem is that these shuttle buses were in no way designed to carry both baggage and passengers, it really is a struggle and can be dangerous, both to baggage and humans.

It is obvious that those who designed the system did it begrudgingly with failure in mind. They did a good job. Nonetheless, it is the only alternative game in town: private car, private car service/taxi, bus are all pretty much the same thing, and pricey (well, except for bus, if you can find one, and at twice the time it would otherwise take).
