Miami??See it like a Native When there was a canal down the center
of
Miller Road The Dungeon on Saturday morning T.V.
Bowl - O - Mat on US1
St. Timothy's annual carnival
The water tower in South Miami Heights
When Quail Roost Drive was nothing but avocado groves
Big Daddy's Lounge on US1 and Coral Reef Drive
When there wasn't a turnpike - we drove on it before it was opened
When Black Point was the old shack store and
there was nothing but shrimp boats there
A&W Drive-In - served birch beer and the waitresses came out on
roller skates

Max, you brought up long forgotten memories for me, some a vaguely remembered. I don't think we were here when miller had a canal in the middle, but it did end at 117th and the uproar when they opened it up further west.

I remember seeing movies at tropical drive in, and the flea markets during the day.

There was tropical skating rink on 87th and bird that we would spend every Saturday on, they also had a little disco inside there too.

Geez how time flies and how so many things change.

Just adding a few more thoughts while cruising the net... How about all those shows at the Hollywood sportatorium?
We would get our quart and drive out there via krome. My friend Tom was the only one who had a car. You'd get high in there without ever lighting up. Frisbees flying everywhere. I need to dig out all my stubs from there and the Baseball stadium shows I went to.
This one even has the list of shows below....

Ok, one more....ZETA4 and WSHE... We'd have our 'Boombox' cranked on ZETA4 at Southbeach in that broken down garage.
The surfers had their cars backed into the rail with their boards out.. ( Though I never saw anyone surfing?)The racetrack was empty or on it's way out...The smell of coconut oil and green blowing in the breeze. Ah the memories...

I guess someone has mentioned Wolfie's. So much fun after a night of clubbing.

Anyone remember Flynn's Ocean 71 on 71 St?
I think it had been a strip club, but in the early 80s we had punk shows there until the cocaine people kinda took over.

There was also 27 Birds which I think was a Big Daddy's. That might have been Miami Springs.

Anyone remember the fanzine Suburban Relapse?
