Do you know if there are alligators in the residential lakes of Kendale Lakes.

I can't answer your question for certainty. But if the lake is connected to a canal or pipe that connects to a lake/canal there is a chance an alligator can be there.

Thanks for your answer. I think it is connected to a pipe that is connected to a second residential lake that is connected to a pipe, and this pipe is connected to a third residential lake that is connected to a larger pipe that leads to a canal.

Can alligators get that far? In the case there could be alligators, is it legal to place alligator traps in residential lakes?

Yes they can go that far. I don't know if it's legal or not to put alligator traps out if your not an alligator trapper. I would suspect it isn't legal. You shouldn't put one out anyways.

There has never been an alligator incident in the Kendale Lakes area. However, alligators are common in canals that connect to the snapper creek canal. Just leave the alligators alone unless you see one in your yard. As far as I know it is legal to shoot an alligator that is attacking you or your pets.

Tallrick,

Do you know if it is legal to set up alligator traps inside of a residential lake?

What method would you use find out if there are any alligators?

In you spot an alligator in residential areas, call the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission 1 866 392 42 86.

I've seen more than one alligator in residential lakes in Doral. Usually less than 3 foot long.

You need a hunting permit to catch alligators, traps are not allowed. You can sometimes find alligators by doing a gator call, but they are very good at hiding, Where I live now gators are somewhat common, and few people care. Although it's technically illegal there have been a few guys here who have captuted and eaten gators found on their own land. Big Brother cannot find out what happened to the nuisance gators. In the suburbs you do not have that option but you can call the FWC so they can get a trapper out there to catch the nuisance gator.

Unless you see one I would not worry much. They are more scared of you. If you see one call FFWC, they will take care of it.
