My girlfriend is trying to determine how much rent should charge to a 70 year old women renting a room out of her 3 bedroom small apartment.

-The roommate will share a bathroom, kitchen and other common areas but have the privacy of the bedroom and the storage area.

-This roommate would live with my girlfriend and her 6 yr old little girl. my girlfriend sleeps in the master bedroom, her daughter in the second bedroom and the roommate will sleep in the smaller room that it used to be the play room for the daughter.

-What is reasonable/fair to charge for "rent"?

-In case it matters she pays $1050 for rent - utilities cost around $350 per month .

Thanks in advance.

Search around your area and see what the going rate is. Also consider a 70 year old woman is more than likely on a very restricted budget.

It depends where you are.

Is the apartment in the ghetto or is it in an upscale area?

I'd probably ask for $275-300 max if the rent is $1050. I would have her pay a third of the utility, so if the utilities are $350 a month, then she'd pay about $115 a month.

Where is this very nice area where you pay $1050 for a 3 bedroom house/apartment?

Is this your second or third thread regarding the same issue?

I would think by now your girlfriend would be able to make a decision regarding the rent in her home.
