What else is there to do other than go to south beach? What do locals do for fun?

This depends on what you like to do for fun. There are sports, the arts (tons of places for this), educational events, etc.

You can go to the Everglades and eat alligator meat, frog legs, go camping, bike riding in Shark Valley, go on airboat rides, kayaking, etc.

There's Metro Zoo, the Museum of Science, etc.

I'm just listing a few things because the list can get rather long.

Depends and what you like to do, we almost NEVER deal with south beach since it is the tourist spot.

We love our local parks and picnic there especially now in the winter time.
Visit our historic old buildings like Deering estate, Viscaya etc
Bike ride down key Biscayne
Visit the new " happening place" wynwood for art galleries and restrurants.
Kayak in the keys
Venture north to delray beach or closer to Hollywood.
North beach in key Biscayne park is really nice if you like coconuts trees and the beach.
Kite surfing off of Madison Hammock park, talk about FUN!!!!
Fishing anywhere!
Snorkeling off some awesome reefs

I can list so much more including a lot of outdoor festivals.... Miami is much better the the south beath club scene!

Miami being boring is a relative thing, its true that you can't call it boring but I live here and its far from my favorite place. For some people its the most amazing place on earth, for me,I truthfully find it boring most of the year.

The city of Miami is a boring concrete canyon, the suburbs are just like most suburbs around the US. Miami is predictable and that makes it boring. For decades the trend has been to go downhill, destroy its identity and fill up with useless junk. Nothing has improved since the 1970's.

Art Walks in Wynwood. Paddleboard on Key Biscayne. Kayak in Oleta Park. Mountain Biking in Virginia Key. Go down to Homestead and go to Schnelbys Winery. Plenty of stuff to do.

There are a ton of lectures going on all the time at the local universities, on every topic imaginable. They're open to the public, and some serve wine and cheese!

Visit the Fruit & Spice park, and take their trolley tour. Visit Robert Is Here tropical fruit mart/petting zoo in Homestead.

Go to a concert or sporting event - there are plenty of both. Lots of live Caribbean music too!

Check out Calle Ocho and learn about Cuban culture. Go to "Big Night in Little Haiti," which is a Haitian cultural event on Friday nights with food and music. Take the Historic Overtown Village Walking Tour (Historic Overtown Folklife Village Walking Tour » The Black Archives), or take this bus tour through Overtown/Midtown/Design District/Downtown/Wynwood: New Tour Bus Takes Visitors Through Miami's Historic Overtown | WLRN

Check out events in local parks, like Tropical Park. Go to one of the many festivals, like Art Basel. Check out Coral Gables, which has shopping and restaurants galore. Spend a day at the Venetian Pool, which reopens in March. Visit Coconut Grove.

There are plenty of museums, music and dance concerts, cultural events, etc. to see all over Miami. In addition to the known places, JCCs often host fascinating lectures and even famous guests as well as professional plays.

Go to Coral Castle, Monkey Jungle, or the Metro Zoo.

Check out Miami's Meetup.com for thousands of other things to do, with groups of people who are interested in the same things you are.

If you're bored in Miami, there is something wrong with you internally - it's not Miami. Most of the world does not have nearly as much to do as the city of Miami does, and somehow people manage just fine to keep themselves busy. Do some research and check out the literally thousands of things to do that you haven't tried yet!

You must be one of the angriest, unhappiest people on Earth. I can't imagine what it's like to go out of your way every day to post extremely negative thoughts all day long, on every topic you can find, even for a city you haven't lived in for a long time. I truly pity anyone who would waste the beautiful opportunity of life they've been given that way.

Even in Miami Beach there's a lot to do besides just partying and Lincoln Road and Ocean Drive.
