Just curious as to what is considered the the most northern town/city in South Florida/Miami Metro?

Is Boca Raton considered to be part of it?

Also what about West Palm Beach?

Yes, Boca Raton is considered part of South Florida. Anything in PBC, Broward, and Miami-Dade are all part of South Florida.

Some also consider Monroe part of South Florida.

I think the OP is asking is Boca Raton a part of the Miami metropolitan area, as he/she knows it is part of South Florida

Also what about West Palm Beach?
The United States Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has defined 381 Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs) for the United States.

Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach, FL (which also encompasses Boca Raton) comprise the eight largest US Metropolitan Statistical Area by population as per the 2010 census and a 2013 estimate.

Are you seeking another type of definition?

Off the top of my head, the three counties comprise a public transportation authority district and also a water management district (which may also include a few other counties).

Personally I consider Lake Okeechobee the dividing line between southern and central Florida, not sure, though, if it's the southern shore or the northern shore, but probably somewhere in the middle; I would definitely include Jupiter, maybe even Martin County or Port Saint Lucie. Others will disagree any way. Have at it.

Hope this helps.

I feel like Boca is not really considered part of the Miami metro, rather it's part of the west palm/palm beach metro area.... even it's news media outlets are all Palm Beach stations. Their local news and radio stations are mostly geared toward West Palm Beach/Palm Beach while Fort Lauderdale is considered more "Miami metro"...and boca IMO is not.

However when one says "South Florida" one assumes Palm Beach, Broward and Dade counties, so it depends I guess, but overall I dont think it is.

Yes I always wondered why WPB had their own local stations when it's clearly part of the Miami metro (like Orange county and LA if you ask me ...).
Do they broadcast Miami local stations there as well like WSVN ?
What's the line from where WPB station are broadcasted on cable ?

FWIW, the statistical metropolitan area goes from Homestead to Jupiter.

Here in Miami we do not recieve any of the local Palm beach stations... It's all "Miami/Fort Lauderdale" stations, however when I was living in Boca back in like 2006.... Boca had an odd mix of all Palm Beach stations and maybe like 1 or two Miami local news stations. But good question, where is the line drawn?

he Miami metropolitan area was expanded after the 2000 census to include not only the core county of Miami-Dade, but also Broward (Fort Lauderdale) and Palm Beach (West Palm Beach) counties.
