I recently located to Miami from NY and am looking to buy a house in a neighborhood with young Jewish families - something similar to Boca in FL, Westchester in NY or the North Shore of Chicago? Does such a place exist with homes for around $1.2 million. Everything I have seen do far looks old and small. My office is in Miami Beach or else I would move to Boca/Delray. Thanks!

Aventura/Bal Harbour/Sunny Isles are your best bets. Pinecrest is also an option, though the commute to Miami Beach would be a bit much.

You could probably buy a nice condo in Aventura/Bal Harbour/Sunny Isles for $1.2M, maybe Miami Beach itself.

In Pinecrest, entry level for old and relatively small is around $800,000, while around $1.2M is entry level for newer and bigger, especially in the northern part, relatively closer to Miami Beach. But, indeed, the commute would be a bit much, about 30-40 minutes with no traffic, and I would imagine 60-90 minutes during rush hours.

Coral Gables is a possibility, a bit closer to Miami Beach than Pinecrest, but there too you will find relatively old and small and a relatively sparser Jewish population.

As a compromise, either accept condo living in one of the coastal communities or do some research on Jewish concentrations in Broward County (maybe Cooper City?).

Good Luck!

I'd add to flyers recommendations Pinecrest, OP will have a longer commute though. Aventura is probably the closest city in Miami-Dade that is like Boca.

Miami in a whole is full of Jewish families. Any neighborhood east of 95 and US-1 in that price range will have Jewish families.

Bay Harbor, Surfside, Aventura, Sunny Isles, anywhere in Miami Beach and Miami's Upper Eastside is a good starting point.

Boca is really not that bad of an option especially if you have price in mind. Being from NY the commute should be nothing.
