I think I read the South Miami right next to Miami is walkable and nice.
Doral and South Miami are upper middle class.

The rest of Miami excluding African American neighborhoods are middle class.

Uh, six figures is not “middle class”. I don’t know that many lawyers making above 130k nor do I actually know many people making so much above that amount. I’m a lawyer at a small firm and my boyfriend is a psychologist. I’ve been in practice 8 years and he has been in practice for 14 years. Together we make 190, which neither of us consider middle class. The average salary for a psychologist in private practice is 120k nationwide. We both have huge school loans from top ten universities. When we say “money is tight” we are referring to the fancy daycare in the near future or the extra vacation we are skipping. The Gables is not in our price range. We are looking at staying in our condo or south suburbs. There are some condos in the gables or older houses but they will run you at least 250, likely 450 k. Plus Gables taxes are extremely high. Downtown Dadeland condos are a good option or the new downtown Doral. However, it really depends if you want a house or condo. Mostly I’m responding to the poverty stricken professor’s son.

Within City limits, Coral Way, Shenandoah/Silver Bluff and parts of the Upper East Side are single family middle class neighborhoods. You can get homes in the $400Ks to 500Ks in these parts, sometimes under 400K if small or needs some work. I would also include parts of the West Flagler/Flagami neighborhoods in this category too.

Upper Class SFH neighborhoods within the City limits I would think of most of Coconut Grove, Baypoint, and Morningside. I think the cheapest homes in these areas are $750K+
