Is it a Miami thing? The black lawn jockeys/farmers/fishermen along with the life-size jesus statues on people's front yards? I've only seen them in my neighborhood which is a pretty old area (shenandoah). I'm surprised no big deal has been made about them considering how people are so politically correct and racially sensitive these days. I think they're great.

Umm what is wrong with a black farmer, jockey or fisherman? Black people can't have those occupations. Maybe I'm just not getting it. Do you have pictures?

I tried looking for pictures of the ones I've seen but all I find on the internet are the black lawn jockeys which are not in the same style

I've seen those, no, it's not a Miami thing.

I never considered them racist, I just considered them statuary.

That one looks horrible as in why would anyone want to put those on their yards. But racist? I don't see it.
I do remember there was an episode of the George Lopez show that dealt with racist statues in a lawn. Like Hispanic people mowing lawns or something. I watched a lot of tv at 3am in college

Looked it up. It was a sleeping Mexican. I guess saying Mexicans are lazy?

I think that one had its face painted poorly. Personally I've never seen any black ones but I wouldn't think it was racist if I did, probably more racist to not have any at all.

Not sure how a statue of Jesus could be considered "racist."

Do you mean sambo jockeys? Hell, I remember that Sambos had a huge Sambo Jockeys, and that many houses in the South do. I bet some do classify as historical.
