I speak Spanish I don’t feel comfortable there
It’s hot sticky plus there were transplants there from Louisiana I felt far more comfortable with than locals

I don't know maybe because in America if you put different cultures in one room the only way they will be able to communicate is in English. Just a thought. Plus it's not fair to people who speak other languages. They are not catered to at all. You never here press 2 for Chinese, Russian or French. People are tired of the self entitlement that is why the changes are happening.

It’s really just a transient thing that has happened all over the US. St Augustine originally spoke Spanish and New Orleans spoke French. Perhaps it may take many more Americans to move to Miami to speed up the process. The whole talk of Wall Street banks moving down there could make that possible.

People do not realize that a HIGH Percentile of the whites left in Miami (Or all over the States for that matter) are also latinos. Not ALL Latinos are BROWN....So don't get caught badmouthing latinos with someone you think he (she) is a gringo, because it backfires ALL THE TIME.

I see it daily and it's not a funny situation.

I am bilingual, and I do my best to always speak in the english language, but I have had to deal with IRATE english speakers just getting out of hand with Rants and Name Calling ( The Trump Syndrome) more than often in this Land of Ours

Miami will not be any different in the future.
I do wonder if Miami is a little bit different than NYC in that NYC has always had a ton of immigrants that speak several different lanages. This necessitates learning English. Additionally, the immigrant language groups ebb and flow. Miami has a contiguous flow of spanish speaking immigrants. This when combined with the outflows of english only speakers seems like it has turned Miami into something more like Montreal than NYC/Toronto.

Much like Montreal in that English is widely known by people that grew up there, but Spanish/French becomes the primary language of day to day life.

...but that wasn't the impetus

People do not realize, Miami didn't used to be this big. There were several boat lifts, Mariel being the most famous, that brought in enough spanish speakers at one time each time...they were able to create their own Miami. Little Havana and Hialeah used to be mostly southerners.......Exact same thing happening in Europe right now.....
