Looking to purchase a home in Islandia at BlackPointe Marina of Homestead and I am not sure of the location. People say it's not a nice area West of there and in the summer time the garbage dump, that is about 5 miles away, stinks. Anyone knows of anything? What about the renters? What are the good areas of Miami/Homestead?

The bad area is North of there, Goulds. West of there is ok (not great but ok). Channel 10 news a few weeks ago did a segment (Daily Neighborhood Crime Alert)on the Islandia neighborhood, it is having a crime issue they said. Probably because it is so close to Goulds. As far as the dump, I don't know, but it would make since as the dump is right there practically. Also the homes are built on mush basically, so all the new homes the next few years are going to settle and there will be cracks.

Islandia is a long skinny island just south of Key Bicayne and it is the smallest city in Florida with a 2004 population of 6.
