The first Waffle House in Miami-Dade county is coming to Miami Gardens

One of the most iconic breakfast spots for after-party meals, weary travelers and late-night comfort food is coming to Miami-Dade County.

The first Waffle House in the county is coming to Miami Gardens, just south of Northwest 199th Street and U.S. 441. City leaders think it will be in place by early 2018.

The South Florida area isn’t fully devoid of Waffle Houses though. There are three in Broward County — in Southwest Ranches, Davie and Fort Lauderdale.

Wawa is already in Broward, hopefully it will continue its expansion south.

You both should have clicked on the link and read to the end of the article!

"Miami Gardens also expects to bring another popular chain to the city as a Wawa convenience store is set for a shopping center off Northwest 27th Avenue and 183rd Street. "

Waffles were in fashion in Miami during the 70's and 80. Lots of cafeterias had all sorts of waffles, people cut on all that - I guess - because the caloric intake. Eating waffles is the best way to become a behemoth. Disgusting junk food from Belgium good for blimpies.

Don't Waffle Houses get robbed every once in a while? Seems like a perfect recipe.

Didn't there use to be a Waffle house on US1 in Florida City years ago?As far as the location of this one, yeah not ideal!!As far as Wawa,it is by far the greatest gas station around,I moved to Orlando close to a year ago and aside from gas I go into a Wawa for everything from subs to breakfast sandwiches, cream cheese pretzels and any size coffee for .79.I was in Miami about 2 months ago and was driving on 8th street from Krone to downtown around 5:30-6am and every gas station was either closed or amazingly didn't have coffee, the only one that was open and said food store outside of it didn't have any kind of coffee,I still can't believe it,I think the first one we saw that was open and you knew it had coffee was a 7-11 in little Havana almost getting to Brickell. The biggest problem in putting Wawas in Miami is getting the room needed for them, many of these older gas stations are tiny and you can't just knock one down to put a wawa you need to knock down other things around it.

Wawa is big up north and their sandwiches are prime time so getting them to Dade county will be huge .
I can't say I feel the same about Waffle House, they don't have a very good reputation around other parts
of the country.

Being from Philly, WaWa is a staple of the NorthEast. Friendly staff, excellent (and big) cafe area with real food (not the crap you see at a 7-11), large variety and cheaper than average Gas Prices. Its booming in Orlando now and eventually will be big down here.
