I was visiting a friend and he was riding the atv around he yard and someone had the nerve to call the police! Nobody goes outside except to wash their car, so what do people do? I know that city people often make fun of small towns, but when visiting a friend in Alabama, Texas or Iowa small towns there's places to go, things to do but in a city like Miami it seems that you have to have a lot of $$$ to do anything. The overcrowded beach has no parking, and it's an ugly, barren beach. Downtown Miami has some parking, and if you're lucky your car will be there when you come back. Everything west of US-1 or I-95 is a wastelend and only homes, condos and shopping. Is there anyplace to go except for shopping malls inland?
This is what Cubans made of this city and they even build museums to show off their "self-glorification" and "dignity" of what they made of this town. .

And yes, there are a lot people with chip on their shoulders acting like "ambulance chasers" wrapped on their house curtains lurking at their neighbors.....

Miami is following the same business models as places like Cancun Mexico, just to name an example but all over the Caribbean, South and Central America just the same.

Regionally speaking, within the U.S., cities compete to be the best in wadges, household income, low cost of living and high quality of life, but this competition is also happening globally-internationally too. As a military- man I've lived and traveled through all 50 states, many other places; Canada, Europe (Germany, France). From my experiences, I've concluded that Miami especially and the US as well, lags significantly. Sadly, all our immigrants from the Caribbean, South and Central America all this its better from where they came from, thus leave well enough alone, and work at Wall-Mart for 8 bucks/hr, sad!

Miami lacks, not due to race or ethnicity demographics, but rather, because of the simple "supply and demand for jobs" (positions wanted vs positions needed). Thank Clinton and NAFTA for much of this.

To contrast the country of Germany out-exports the US in goods and services. Germany has less than 1/4 of population of the US and is forced to have "legal" immigration to augment its workforce. Not surprisingly, Germany handles more immigration requests and more legal immigration than than the US. Germany has the high paying jobs because of it's industry and ability to both export and domestically consume its goods and services, and moreover, Germany has socialized education healthcare, real estate, among other something that is essential for them in order to have a strong consumer society of nationally produces goods and services, very well thought out.

Good social -political business model are already in place around the world, that Miami and the US can refer to to fix ours. I would love to someday work to support the Miami charter of the U.S. Labor Party, for startes
You're downplaying Clinton (who by many, being a Democrat, is considered a socialist) but emphasize on how things work in Germany, the country that invented socialism (??) You shouldn't thank Clinton only. Outsourcing has been going on for decades in this country. That's what keeps this country down.

And last time I checked, the US still produces more, still is the largest economy in the world and when I look at what is being built in Miami, vs what exists in Germany, I'm a reminded that something works, or money is being infused to this city by somewhere(I've been told primarily by South Americans), so it's not all that terrible.

Why don't you go visit the museum and then bash it instead of reviewing something you haven't even been to?
