Having lived in San Diego before moving to Miami, I had the opportunity to make a run for the border many times and sample the great Baja Mexican cuisine in Tijuana and Ensenada. One of the top chefs from that area, Javier Plascencia, is coming to Miami on April 17 and will be hosting an event at Tacology at Brickell City Centre. I have yet to find a great place in Miami for Mexican food--hopefully, Javier will be able to produce some of his signature dishes at this event...worth checking out it you are a fan of Mexican food or have never sampled Baja Mexican cuisine.

And what about I ❤️ Tacos? When I’m in town I go to the one in Weston. There’s also one in Pembroke Pines.

Dude, there is a very good Mexican place right outside Brickell, in Little Havana. Very simple, but the food is good.

It is called Taquerias El Mexicano

And if you want really good high end Mexican cuisine, you have to come up to Fort Lauderdale and visit "Eduardo de San Angel"

Thanks for the tips—will give a shot when in the area ...in the meantime I can just walk to this event in 2 weeks. Javier is the real deal if you get a chance to go—Rick Bayless is a huge fan of Javier. Great restaurants he owns include Mision 19, Finca Altozano, and Caesar’s....hope he brings some great Baja wines.
