Hi all!

I am a recent FIU college grad looking for the cheapest 1 bedroom I can possibly find ($500 - $700 maximum). Emphasis on cheap and ... as crazy as it sounds-- location doesn't matter. Of course I would love to move in a safe area-- but I do realize that with my budget I cannot have it all and that some things are going to have to be sacrificed.

That being said what areas in South Florida are the best bet for my type of budget? And what should my expectations be?

Thanks any and everyone!

You should expect a complete dump, probably with no laundry, no separate bedroom space (a studio), no dishwasher, no stove, crack head neighbors, and your bicycle will get stolen within a few months (i'm assuming you don't own a car).

Otherwise, take your $700 and pool it with some of your college friends and get a 2 bedroom in a decent place that's atleast somewhat safe!

Okay. At least yours is an honest response! The no-stove and no-separate-bedroom space are definite deal breakers for me. Everything else would have been somewhat tolerable.

Luckily, I do own a car! I couldn't imagine living in this place and not having at a car! Total nightmare!

If you can afford a car in Miami, you can afford a nicer place.

Try to look for an efficiency in FIU's board.
